Welcome to the Texas Cancer Interception Institute: A new era in cancer detection
At Baylor Scott & White Health, we believe the best way to fight cancer is to stop it in its tracks. The Texas Cancer Interception Institute brings together advanced technology, research and care teams to help detect cancer at its earliest stages—when it is most treatable.
Rethinking how cancer is detected
The Texas Cancer Interception Institute (TCII) is supporting national efforts to reduce cancer mortality rates by 50% over the next 25 years by focusing on one of the most effective strategies in cancer care: earlier detection.
Too many cancers are still detected after symptoms appear, when treatment options are more limited.
By expanding access to technology‑driven screening and evaluating new diagnostic tools, TCII aims to help people connect to care earlier, with the goal of improving outcomes over time.
Building the future of cancer interception
The Texas Cancer Interception Institute is bringing people and technology together to redefine what the fight against cancer can do.
The Texas Cancer Interception Institute Command Center
The Texas Cancer Interception Institute Command Center for Baylor Scott & White Health will be located at the Baylor Scott & White Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas. By coordinating advanced technologies and clinical expertise, the Command Center helps remove barriers to care and supports access to innovative screening and research programs.

Expanding access to cancer screening for all
Reducing cancer mortality starts with access. Through tools like the MyBSWHealth app and ongoing research, we’re helping remove barriers to screenings—making it easier to stay on track with recommended care and take the first step toward earlier detection.
Understanding the reality of cancer today
Approximately 2 million
cancer cases are diagnosed annually in the United States.
#2
Cancer is the #2 leading cause of death in the U.S.
90%
For many common cancers, survival rates exceed 90% when detected at an early stage.
Only 4 routine screenings
Cancer types currently have recommended routine screening tests: breast, colon, cervical and lung.
By making it possible for everyone to test for cancer more frequently, we hope to change the narrative.
